Some articles include YouTube videos. Without consent, a box with an image hosted on our servers is shown instead of the video: no connection to YouTube is made. You can choose "Allow and watch the video" (which grants this category only) or "Watch directly on YouTube", which opens the video on the YouTube website.
With consent, the YouTube player is loaded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The player may still store or read information on your device (for example localStorage, IndexedDB and any cookies of Google domains) and receive technical data such as your IP address and browser information.

The video previews in the "Documentaries from the Field" section of the home page are served from our servers: your browser does not contact YouTube to display them. Clicking a video opens the YouTube website in a new tab, governed by YouTube's terms.

Helps us understand, in aggregate form, how the website is used (pages visited, traffic sources, device). The Google Analytics script is loaded only after consent to the "Analytics" category; before consent no request is made to Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager. Payment takes place on checkout.stripe.com, which you reach only after choosing to proceed with a purchase. The website pages do not load any Stripe scripts. On its own domain Stripe uses cookies and tools necessary for payment, security and fraud prevention: they are strictly necessary for the service you request and are governed by the Stripe Cookie Policy and the Stripe Privacy Policy.
The website is hosted by Vercel, which processes the technical data needed to deliver the pages (for example IP address and request data) and does not set cookies on the website. The fonts (Bebas Neue, Barlow, Barlow Condensed) are hosted on our servers. Links to our social profiles (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) and to marketplaces (e.g. Vinted, eBay) are plain links: no content, pixel or widget from these services is loaded on the website.
You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, which reopens the panel showing your current choices. If you disable a category you had previously allowed, your choice is saved and the page is reloaded, so the service is no longer loaded.
You can also delete cookies and site data (including localStorage) from your browser settings: in that case the banner will be shown again on your next visit.
This Cookie Policy may be updated when the services used by the website change. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. If the optional services change substantially, the banner will ask for your consent again.
